Safe, compliant, effective sprinkler systems
Providing your building with the most effective and reliable fire safety solutions. Introducing our new Active Fire Safety division, which features domestic sprinkler systems utilising CPVC technology.
✓ Compliance: Helping meet fire safety requirements, including BS 9251:2021 and in accordance with BS EN 12845:2015 for residential fire sprinkler systems.
✓ Low Maintenance: CPVC systems have lower material and installation costs and require less ongoing care than metallic alternatives.
✓ Fire-Resistant: CPVC pipes won’t support combustion. They char but do not burn, helping to contain fires effectively.
✓ Quick & Clean Installation: Discreet heads and flexible installation suit both retrofits and new builds.

What are CPVC sprinkler systems?
CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) is a thermoplastic that’s been specially treated with chlorine to make it tougher and more heat-resistant than regular PVC.
CPVC has no reaction to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, it will not support combustion, and it is rated as self-extinguishing. An additional feature is its retained strength at high temperatures.
It’s strong, durable, and has fire-resistant qualities, which is why Global uses it in its fire sprinkler systems.

As of March 2025, all new care homes are legally required to have sprinkler systems in place
The amendment applies to Approved Document B, which offers guidance on Building Regulations. This specifically relates to fire safety in England.
For New Builds: Sprinkler systems must be integrated into the design phase, as they are now legally mandatory.
For Existing Care Homes: While retrofitting sprinklers is not yet required, it is a recommended safety measure that could become compulsory in the future. Early adoption could enhance resident safety and demonstrate a proactive commitment to fire safety compliance.

Domestic fire sprinklers for the housing sector
Housing associations and private social housing providers have a responsibility to meet fire safety standards when building, upgrading, or maintaining homes.
Approved Document B states that blocks of flats over 11 metres and some types of care homes and HMOs require a sprinkler system to be in place. The Building Safety Act 2022 places greater accountability on those responsible for higher-risk residential buildings
Have you installed fire sprinklers yet?
Data gathered by Inside Housing* revealed that of 1,768 social housing blocks owned by 37 housing associations and councils across the UK, just 334 (18.9%) had sprinklers fitted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Each sprinkler head contains a heat-sensitive element. When the temperature in a room reaches a pre-set level due to a fire, this element breaks, releasing water directly onto the fire. Crucially, only the sprinkler head directly affected by the heat will activate, not all of them, minimising water damage.
Installation typically involves running a network of CPVC pipes discreetly within your walls and ceilings, connecting them to your building’s water supply, and installing the sprinkler heads. Our certified installers work efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Domestic CPVC systems are remarkably low-maintenance. We recommend an annual visual inspection to ensure everything is in order, along with a professional check every few years. This ensures your system remains in optimal working condition and ready to protect your building.
A properly installed and maintained CPVC fire sprinkler system can last for 50 years or even longer, providing reliable fire protection for generations.
